All In A "Month's" Work - 09/26/2010

I am aware I have been gone for about a month. However, about once a year I end up traveling all over the place, purely coincidentally, to go see friends. This year, it just happened to start in August and end last weekend, starting with a weekend in Mississippi (with my boyfriend...yep, not a mistype, I got me one of those now), a party weekend in Atlanta (newly-relocated Pleasanton friend), my 29th birthday extravaganza in Toronto (high school friends), a nutty 30th birthday party in Savannah (college friends), ANOTHER weekend in Mississippi and now finally I've been home all weekend. NUTS. And I'm broke. And I keep poking at my liver to see if its still responsive (not sure about that one). Because of all that traveling there was a lot of driving involved which meant a lot of face time with my beloved Sirius. This means good things for you because there are a few old songs to post and a few new obscure ones to listen to.
Willow Smith, 9 year old daughter of Will Smith who has this BANGING track. That's her singing. She's NINE!
Willow Smith - Whip My Hair

And now for the rest of the music that you'll be playing obsessively for the next week ;)
Primal Scream - Rocks (Crank this one up)
Mark Ronson & The Business International - The Bike Song
Scissor Sisters - Any Which Way
Of Montreal - Coquet Coquette
Claire Maguire - Ain't Nobody (Breakage Remix)
Dilated Peoples & Kanye West - This Way
Eminem - Cinderella Man
J. Cole - Blow Up
Kid Cudi, Best Coast & Rostam from Vampire Weekend - All Summer
Loick Essien - Love Drunk
Finger 11 - Living In A Dream
We Are The City - There Are Very Tiny Beasts In The Ground
Band Of Horses - The Funeral

Finally, videos from last night's RJD2 show at The Masquerade:

Life changes...

A year ago I made a very important decision to completely change everything and move 2,452 miles across the country from California to Georgia for a chance at a better life. A year later I've discovered I'm happier, financially stable(r) and more independent than I've been in a really long time. But I've also learned after a lot of time spent by myself and building a new life from scratch that you get one life. ONE. So it's time to take risks, leave the douchebags in the rearview (and there have been three of them this past year - amazing I still attract them on a different side of the country) and grab life by the balls. So. What are you waiting for?

Magneta Lane - Bridge To Terabithia
Everytime I think about these times
They'll change dreams rearranged to
Suit the view we got ahead
Young lovers they dream instead

All In A Week's Work - 8/29/2010

I am suffering a hangover after one of my friends Laura descended on Atlanta and I haven't seen her in two years. I guess I'm prepping my liver for the upcoming Toronto drinking weekend this weekend :) SOOOOO much fun, a nutty three weeks coming up and there's a severe lack of good music out there :( So, some old, some new and a small choice but these four songs should keep you going for a while!

Kanye West - Power (Jay-Z Remix)
50 Cent Ft. Ne-Yo - Baby By Me
112 - Anywhere

Dan Mangan - amazing singer and seems to be quite witty (my favorite combo!)
Dan Mangan - Robots

I love you Peter Gabriel

Dashed home for lunch after seeing a vendor and came across this ad for Guitar Center Sessions with Peter Gabriel on DirecTV tonight. Never before have I wanted satellite tv this bad...and now I'm sitting here an almost blubbery mess. Around 3:30 when he hits that minor key? Good effing lord.
